Greenland Global Warming

Global warming is a sensitive issue and it is of grave concern to environmentalists. Global warming is caused by Industrial pollution, excessive atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide and thus promoting the heat trapping capability of the atmosphere. Greenland Global warming is mainly due to the loss of ice sheets which is about 8% of the earth's grounded ice. The Ice sheets are rapidly loosing its Ice mass and all theses are reported from NASA scientists. The Scientists further proved that per annum more than 11 cubic miles of ice is melting down in the Greenland's coasts and it give rise to glacial earthquake up to 5.1 in the Richter scale and as a result of the earth quakes major amount of Ice falls into the sea

The coastal temperatures in Greenland have followed the global warming trend and have successively undergone a cooling trend. Due to the loss of Ice sheets the summer temperatures have declined at a rate of 2.2 degree Centigrade per decade. High rate of warming results in lesser production of greenhouse gas. High anti-correlations between the Greenland and NAO Index show a connection between the processes.

Global warming and Greenland ice sheet is a major concern among the scientist. It is feared by scientists that if a 3,000 meters of thick Greenland ice cape melts then it will automatically increase the world sea level by 7 meters, leading to widespread floods. Similarly glaciers at the sea levels are retreating fast due to the warm climate.

Global warming in Greenland is a major issue as most of the scientists believe that Greenland ice will melt within thousand years if the continuation of global warming exists and ocean would rise by 70 meters causing a huge problem to Greenland and to the entire world.
