Czech Television is a very important part of the Czech – Media. It was back in the year 1954 when the erstwhile Czechoslovakia started the television broadcasting on the regular basis. The exact date was 25th of February. There had been some unsuccessful endeavors in 1948 and 1953 respectively. The Television broadcasting was done only by Czechoslovak television that was run by the state.
Now the Czech television, which is succeeded by Czechoslovak television, telecasts four major channels in the whole of Czech Republic. Among these four channels, two are Classic Analog Channels while the other two channels are modern and Digital. The Analog Channels are CT1 and CT2 while the Digital Channels are CT24 and CT4.

In the year 1994, the national CT channel underwent a selection method and became TV Nova. With the introduction of this commercial television station, began the new and better epoch of private broadcasting in the country of Czech Republic. After a gap of three years, another commercial television station, known as TV Premiéra, began broadcasting. It is currently known as Prima TV.
Along with the four main channels, there operates another twenty regional television stations in the country of Czech Republic.
