The historically eminent Czech Republic is a democratic republic that has a strong multi-party character. One of the dominant political parties of the Czech Republic, the Civic Democratic Party has come to power, following the 2006 elections. Mirek Topolanek, an able and active party member has been elected as the Prime Minister of Czech Republic.

Mirek Topolanek the incumbent Prime Minister of the Czech Republic is an able statesman. The highlights of his political career included his chairmanship of the Civic Democratic Party, that adopted the neo liberalism political ideology, membership in the Socialistic Union of Youth (SSM), Civic Forum and VAE Inc. councils as well as the establishment of the VAE Ltd in the year 1991.

Mirek Topolanek is a worthy successor of Vaclav Havel, who nows holds the rank of President of the Czech Republic. The nation's premier was possibly the most popular Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. In fact a close look at Topolanek's career graph reveals that he was cut out to be a leader. A student of Opava's military school, he was a distinguished member of the Socialistic Union of Youth (SSM) during his student days. An engineer by profession, was also a member of the Senate from 1996 to 2004 and held office as its chairman from 2002 to 2004. Finally following his party's landslide victory in 2006, Topolanek was appointed as Prime Minister by President Klaus to form his government.
