Burundi sports and entertainment activities form an integral part of Burundi culture. Soccer (Football) is the national game of the country and the Burundians have taken part and competed in various African Nations cups. The second popular sport of Burundi is basketball. Kivivuga amazina, a special form of poetry contest, is extremely common among the cattle herders. Children enjoy riddles and playing various indoor and outdoor games. “Horo” is a kind of ball game usually played by the girls. One of the ancient games namely “urubugu” is quiet famous among Burundians of all age group.
