The Burkina Faso Prime Minister is nominated by the president of the country of Burkina Faso with the legislature’s approval. The present Prime Minister of Burkina Faso is Tertius Zongo. The Prime Minister of Burkina Faso is the head of the government of Burkina Faso. In the year of 1983, Capt. Thomas Sankara was appointed as the Prime Minister of Burkina Faso.

The government of the country consists of the Prime Minister along with the Council of Ministers, which is chaired by the president of the country, the judiciary and the unicameral National Assembly.

Tertius Zongo, who is the present prime minister of the country stated that he would give priority to the human rights for the better functioning of the country. The prime minister of Burkina Faso, Yonli had resigned in the year of 2007. Following his resignation, Tertius Zongo was appointed as the prime minister. Tertius Zongo was initially the finance minister of Burkina Faso and also he had served as the diplomat to the United States.
