Botswana Time is two hours ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time. The Greenwich Mean Time used to refer originally to the mean solar time at Greenwich in the Royal Observatory at England. Now-a-days however, it refers to the Coordinated Universal Time or the UTC whenever and wherever this is taken as a time zone. UTC is basically an Atomic Time Scale.
Botswana Time does not follow the daylight saving time. Daylight Saving Time is referred to as the convention of adjusting the clocks in such a manner that the afternoons have more of the daylight in comparison to the mornings. At the very start of the spring season, the clocks are adjusted by advancing them by one hour and in the autumn they are again adjusted backward by one hour. Time in Botswana is thus adjusted accordingly.
The Botswana time of sunrise during the months of winter approximately remains between 5:30 a.m to 5:45 a.m, while the sunset remains in between 7.00 p.m to 7:10 p.m. Similarly, sunrise during the months of summer takes place within the Botswana Time of 6:35 a.m and 6:45 a.m with the sunset approximately taking place between 5:45 pm and 6.00 p.m.
Botswana is placed in the southern hemisphere and is a part of the African continent.
